WHY WE GO ON RETREAT
Some things need
more than an hour.
■
Retreat gives us the time and space to meet deeper questions, move through life’s transitions and become absorbed in the practices that matter to us. Over several days, we can follow a thread much further, build real understanding and experience the work in a way that stays with us.
It is also a chance to get to know your teachers. To draw on years of experience, ask the questions there is never quite time for after class and explore what the teachings mean in your own life.
Since 2015, we have been leading bespoke, inspirational retreats in locations chosen to complement the curriculum. Each is an immersive deep dive, created to help you discover more of the magic of the practices and carry that knowledge and experience into the rest of your practice and life.

The place is part of the practice.
A walk through the pines after a morning session. The conversation that carries on over lunch. A swim before everyone meets again.
We choose our settings with these moments in mind. There is room to join in and room to be on your own, whether you are arriving with a friend or meeting everyone for the first time.
Some guests meet on retreat and still get together for a cuppa at the studio back home. Shared days give those friendships room to grow.
YOUR TEACHERS
A living story of practice,
place, and people transformed.

Esther, Debbie & Chris
The roots of Yoga x Life Retreats reach back long before 2015, to when Debbie began attending Esther’s retreats in Tuscany. Those experiences began years of work together and a relationship with deep practice that would shape everything that followed. In 2015, Debbie devoted herself to the retreat programme and formalised what had been growing from that shared work.
Today, Esther, Debbie & Chris bring decades of combined teaching, study and personal practice to that story. Longstanding relationships as teachers, students and colleagues have allowed different ways of understanding the body and human experience to inform one another. Debbie’s background in specialist neuro-physiotherapy and years of shamanic study with Esther sit alongside Chris’s decade leading teacher training in the North East. Across these different paths runs a shared commitment to deep understanding: knowing the practices through experience, asking better questions and discovering how the teachings can become part of everyday life.
From Ibiza and Bali to the places still calling us, we choose each setting to complement the curriculum. The landscape, culture and historical connections are part of what we go there to meet. Within that setting, there is time to get to know your teachers, draw on their experience and follow the questions a class rarely has room for. Our intention is that you return with more than memories of somewhere beautiful: real knowledge, a deeper relationship with practice and new possibilities for the life you come home to.
