RETREAT JOURNAL

Some things need more than an hour

Sometimes a class finishes just as a question is opening up. A movement is starting to make sense. You have noticed something in a quieter practice. There is a conversation you would like to carry on, but everyone has somewhere to be.

That is part of why we keep making space for retreat.

Time to follow the question

Over several days, teaching builds into experience. You can return to a practice the next morning, ask what comes next and get to know the teachers beyond the end of a class. There is space for deeper questions, life’s transitions and the understanding that grows through sustained practice.

Our story reaches back to Debbie attending Esther’s retreats in Tuscany and the years of work together that followed. In 2015, Debbie devoted herself to the retreat programme and formalised what had been growing from that shared practice.

The setting matters too

We choose meaningful places that complement the curriculum. The landscape and culture become part of the experience, alongside meals, walks and conversations with the people sharing those days. Friendships often continue long after everyone has unpacked at home.

Find the work that draws you

Each programme offers its own deep dive. You might want to understand movement and strength, explore nourishment through Ayurveda, spend sustained time with yin and somatic practice, or meet the teachings in a landscape that opens up a different perspective.

Explore upcoming retreats and read the programmes to see what speaks to you. If you would like help choosing, tell us what you are looking for.
